SAER ZE |
A face that has graced TV commercials by international brands like McDonald's, Toyota and Pizza Hut, electropop songstress Saer Ze has come a long way and from a very experimental musical background. Starting out as a rapper in an RnB girl trio, Saer Ze released a first solo EP ‘My Make-Believe’ back in 2003 that saw her producing material from poetry to hiphop and DnB. In 2005, Ze released the "SHAMELESS" debut album which was recorded in Byron Bay, Australia, where she completed a degree with SAE (School of Audio Engineering). "SHAMELESS" was a mash of electro to rock to ethnic tracks. The self-released CD brought her several award nominations including "Best Local English Artiste" of 2006 (AIM, Malaysian Grammys), "Most Outstanding Youth of the Year" 2005 (AYA, Asian Youth Ambassadors). Her music video "Too Sexy" is seen on Hitz.TV, and her singles have hit the charts of national radio. Single "Room for 2" was recently featured on an MTV ad by Noise Singapore and she has also grabbed the CLEO Magazine's Young Achievers Award 2007. Ze has headlined alongside artistes like Malaysian Idol Winner Jaclyn Victor, DJ Gabriel, KRU and collaborated with Malaysian Reggae Ambassador Sasi the Don, Transient Vortex, Helmut Kraft, Nostalgic Dance Orchestra, J Lyall, Dragon Red, K Town Clan and Vandal. Ze has headlined a Red Sessions event, which has also featured Dimitri from Paris, Austin Leeds and Rasmus Faber. This time around, Saer Ze and producer Ruben Debusschere introduce a new project "Dirty Disco Doll". Think Madonna, MIA, Santogold, Kylie, Moloko, Goldfrapp and the new Nelly Furtado, and you've got the new Saer Ze sound with Dirty Disco Doll. |

LOCKDOWN (FRANCE) JAPAN PROMOTIONAL TOUR 2008 |
DO NOT RUN! DO NOT TAKE COVER! - The bombs being dropped down on you haven't been delivered by a hurricane air force bomber – this is LOCK DOWN and they are the crushing disciples of stealth funk, with their weapons of infectious groove and melody aimed right at you, it isn't hard to recognise that they have been designed to put your mind and body deep into Lock down mode. The BIG new deal on the music scene is breathing life back into the fashion conscious generations desperate to party like nothing else matters but the groove. And getting a grip of this groove is like booking a ticket to the greatest funk pop/rock show on earth. A show where you cannot deny your impulses to hear, see and feel all that's present before you. Remind yourself this is what you want and have always wanted to hear, see and feel in one band. Lock Down got on a roll in the later part of 2007 when charismatic and notorious front man Damien Gouder in-scripted the services of specialist funk and groove drummer / producer Christophe Hoggomat who was already gaining somewhat of a reputation with his unique production skills know as "the French touch". Damien then reunited with the outrageous showman talent of BIG bass specialist Jon Farquharson who had performed with him in the famed New Zealand underground band Omega Dawn. After settling on this dynamite rhythm section the now trio then enlisted another diamond from off shore New Zealand with guitarist Dave "Animal" Penman whose name had been appearing too many times in conversation to ignore offering him a trial. And one trial was all it took for Dave to seal his position with all members welcoming him into the LOCK DOWN family. Not single minded in vision but a match made in music heaven, LOCK DOWN, will confront, absorb and tantalise your music senses until you cannot deny what you so long to do …… Surrender to the beat, surrender to the melody and ultimately surrender to LOCK DOWN and yourself. |
